A woman carrying a bucket full of water from a well crowded to fetch water on the eve of world Water day, in Talegaon village near Dindori. The only well in Talegaon is already dried and receives water once in a three days for about 1 hour from a water source 4 km away through pipeline.

People from Nilmati village near Mokhada waiting for the tanker at the dried well in the morning. The village allotted with one tanker every day, every morning a water tanker will fillup some water into the well. The water shortage is so severe that villagers start gathering at the well in the morning only and already descend their pails into the well. Once the tanker emptied totally into well villagers starts pulling the water desperately and the well will be empty again within 10 min.

Heat wave is further deteriorating the water situation in draught hit areas in Nashik district. Thought the Nashik city temperature decreased upto 38 degrees since last week. About 100 km North towards Chandwad and Malegaon the temp is around 43-45 degrees.
Water level of this small dam near Chandwad, abt 80 km from Nashik is decreased drastically this summer.
